For Sacred Spaces Harvest Festival 2026, Naaz Lab created a custom time-based web experience that turned data collection into a scavenger hunt. Guests moved through the festival, took photos, answered prompts and interacted with different parts of the event while useful participation data was collected through play.
Unlike a generic event-app template, Naaz Lab builds lightweight browser experiences around the specific story, visual identity, physical space and behavior you want to encourage. No app-store download is required.

A rectangular image or video is projected onto a surface. It is fast, effective and ideal for simple event loops, films, logos, presentations and backdrops.
The content is built around the exact surface, object or architecture. Windows, corners, stages, furniture and unusual shapes can become part of the visual instead of sitting behind a visible rectangle.
Mapping can also include live VJing, sound cues, responsive visuals and custom interactive systems.
The value is in the build before the light ever reaches the wall. Projection mapping is not simply placing an image on a surface. Pricing reflects the creative development, technical prep, testing, equipment and live labor required to make the final experience feel seamless.
Simple projection builds can begin around $150. Most complete projects land at $300+ once creative development, setup and on-site time are included. Interactive and custom-mapped systems scale with complexity.

We test or review the actual environment: dimensions, throw distance, surfaces, ambient light, power, equipment placement and any interaction requirements.
The approved concept is installed, mapped, calibrated and run. Depending on scope, execution can include live operation, real-time adjustments, strike and teardown.
Creative Technologist / Fine Artist
Ashanti Africana is a Detroit-based creative technologist, fine artist and mother working across projection mapping, time-based media, installation, digital collage, creative coding and interactive experiences.
She earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Michigan-Flint, cum laude, with study in time-based media, installation art, digital communications and data analytics.
Naaz Lab was born from the want to integrate technology into fine art. Launched in 2025, the lab became a space for testing how light, code, interaction and everyday objects can carry story, play and atmosphere.
Naaz Lab starts with storytelling, installation and the arts of it all. Projection, code, interaction, sound and physical space are tools for building a narrative. It is more than putting textures on a wall. This is storytelling.
